The company was founded in 1981 and is headquartered in Germantown, Maryland.

LSSI was acquired in January 2015 by Argosy Capital, a private equity firm based in Wayne, PA with over $500 million of assets under management.

Superwinch was acquired in March 2015 by Kinderhook Industries, a private equity firm based in New York, NY with over $1 billion of assets under management.

TMR sells small replacement parts that are used directly on automobiles as well as replacement parts and accessories for automotive service equipment such as brake lathes, wheel balancers, tire changers and lifts located in garages, dealerships, and tire servicers. The company's headquarters and distribution center are located in Sarasota, Florida.

TMR was acquired in March 2014 by Integrated Supply Network, a portfolio of Audax Private Equity, a private equity firm based in Boston, MA with over $2 billion of assets under management.
